Site-Memorial of the August 1 Nanchang Uprising 八一南昌起义纪念馆
Located on Zhongshan Road in Nanchang City, the site is a Chinese revolutionary memorial in memory of the Nanchang Uprising led by the Chinese Communist Party on August 1, 1927. It was a hotel during that time, and is a silver gray four-storey building in the shape of a Chinese "Hui" character. It has 96 rooms and the decoration combines Western and Chinese styles, which was one of the biggest hotels in Nanchang City in the 20th century. All leaders of the uprising such as Zhou Enlai lived and organized the uprising from the hotel. From the 2nd to 4th floors are four exhibitions and one inscription room, showing the glorious history of the uprising through a variety of materials including documents, original objects, photos and graphs.
