Top 10 wealthiest IT families in China

Jiang Bin of GoerTek and his family are the wealthiest family in China's information technology sector with a wealth of 10.6 billion yuan, according to an annual ranking of family wealth by Money Week, a Chinese wealth management journal.

Jiang's family was followed by Gong Hongjia of Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd. and Nan Cunhui of CHINT Electrics Co., Ltd. and their families.

Apart from the list of rich families in information technology sector, Money Week also published a general ranking of rich families in China together with another six other sub lists including a new energy rich list, a bio-technology rich list, a manufacturing rich list, an overseas rich list, a real estate rich list and a new rich list.

Among the 23,179 families on the lists this year, the number of rich families in IT reached 3,789. Bio-technology, IT, new energy technology and manufacturing industries are the fields where a great number of unexpected new rich families came from this year.

The top 10 richest families in IT in China are:

Shares: 58.83 percent

Wealth: 5.1 billion (US$792.1 million)

Founded in April 2005, Shenzhen MTC Co., Ltd. is a professional digital products manufacturer. Its main products, such as LCD/LED TVs, digital set-top boxes, DVD players, Blu-ray disc players, portable DVDs and Portable TVs, are sold in more than 60 countries and regions including Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania. The company has good partnership with Philips, Siemens, Carrefour, TCL and other well-know companies in China and the world. It was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in June 2010.
