In 1994, it was merged by three national universities: the former Sichuan University, the former Chengdu University of Science and Technology, and the former West China University of Medical Sciences. But after the merger, Sichuan University did not develop as much as expectations.Located in Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan Province, Sichuan University is one of China's key universities under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Education and the most famous high-level comprehensive research university in West China.


Sichuan University comprises 30 colleges and offers 229 doctoral programs, 346 master programs, 13 professional master's programs, 126 undergraduate programs and 28 post-doctoral research stations.

Tuition:4,440 – 12,000 yuan per year

Zhu De, one of China's founding fathers;

Yang Shangkun, former chairman of China;

Guo Moruo, famous Chinese writer;

Ba Jin, famous Chinese writer
