China's super league club Shenzhen Kingsway Wednesday fired head
coach Wang Baoshan after accusing him of mismanagement over the
players' conducts.
The personnel casualty also included assistant coaches Niu
Hongli and Li Xianzhong.
Meanwhile, the club appointed former player Xie Feng as
caretaker coach the same day. He was the fifth coach of the
struggling club within the last two seasons.
The shift was the hangover following Shenzhen playmaker Lu
Bofei's wound in a midnight robbery attempt at him.
The assault happened at Shenzhen's United Square, Futian
District early Tuesday morning when Lu, wearing the No.10 shirt of
the club team, walked home alone. He was injured when fighting a
couple of robbers, said team director Li Hong.
Shenzhen, the 2004 Chinese soccer champions, place 11th in the
Chinese 15-strong super league with six wins, six draws and 11
losses.
The 44-year-old Wang, who took over Shenzhen since the start of
the season, coached Chinese U-20 national team in 2002. He also
coached Chinese clubs Jiangsu Shuntian, Yunnan Hongta, and Shenzhen
Kejian.
