Top Chinese player Li Na has ousted Eleni Danilidou, setting up
a third round clash with Russian ace Maria Sharapova in the DFS
Classic, a grass court warm up for Wimbledon.
Li Na, the tournament's 13th seed, struggled to beat the Greek
in two straight sets 7-6 (11-9), 6-3 in the second round.
Her next opponent, former Wimbledon champion and top seed
Sharapova, defeated American Ahsha Rolle 6-4, 6-2.
The other two Chinese players, Yan Zi and Peng Shuai, have left
the tournament early.
Yan was beaten 7-5, 7-5 by Bulgaria's Tsvetana Pironkova in a
second round clash, while Peng lost 6-2, 6-1 to Serbia's Jelena
Jankovic.
