The Beijing women's team whitewashed Guangdong 3-0 to extend
their winning streak to four in the table tennis China Super
League.
In the first singles clash, world's top player and Olympic
champion Zhang Yining overcame a first set down to take Cao Xingni
9-11, 11-4, 11-7 and 11-8.
Rising star Guo Yan contributed second point for Beijing as she
beat Liu Shiwen 3-2 in the second singles match.
Guo then teamed up with Ding Ning to win the doubles match and
wrapped up the victory for Beijing.
Following the victory, the Beijing team consolidate their top
place on the tally with eight points.
In other results, Beijing University upset league struggler
Henan 3-1, Jiangsu suffered a 3-2 loss to visiting Shandong, while
second-ranked Hebei swept Bayi 3-0.
In the men's session, traditional powerhouses Shaanxi and Bayi
each snatched a road victory over their rivals in the fourth round
matches.
The two teams now share the leading spot on the standings with
eight points.
Shandong moves up to third place on the tally following a 3-0
victory over Beijing.
