The first batch of Olympic sculptures will be created in time
for this year's Olympic Day celebrations, according to Beijing
organizers.
According to a report from the Beijing Olympic organizers'
website, the small-scale models of the 10 pieces have been
transferred to Xiaxian County of Shanxi province.
Upon completion they will be displayed in Beijing on June 23,
which is also known as the Olympic Day.
These artistic pieces to be created were selected from a range
of models as part of the 2008 Olympics Sculpture Competition
initiated by the Games organizers last year.
The sculptures are expected to go on a nation-wide exhibition
and will also be displayed at national museums in several foreign
countries.
