Dalian Shide slip from first to third place in AFC Champions League Group E after a 3-0 Matchday 3 defeat at Gamba Osaka.
After a good first-half performance Dalian fell behind two minutes into the second period when Yasuhito Endo fired home a penalty, awarded for a Liu Yu foul on Gamba's Aklra Jaki.
Oozing with confidence after their 15-0 drubbing of Da Nang in Matchday 2, the Japanese side quickly added to their lead when Brazilian player Magno Alves received from Yasuhito Endo, rounded Chen Dong and slotted into an open goal.
Magno Alves added Gamba's third after taking on Wang Sheng in a quick attack down the left wing.
The result sees Dalian lose their leadership of Group E and slip to third place on goal difference, with Chonbuk Motors 3-0 winners against Da Nang in the other Matchday 3 clash.
