China's chess veteran Zhu Chen has suffered her second
straight defeat at the National League matches.
Zhu, who represents Zhejiang Province, has failed to beat
teenage male player Li Chao of Beijing in a second round clash on
Wednesday.
In a later match, leading Chinese chess grandmaster Ye
Jiangchuan smashed Lin Yi to add one more victory for Beijing.
Beijing then extended their lead to win the series 4.5-0.5 over
Zhejiang.
In other matches, Shandong has wrapped up their second straight
victory after beating Wuxi 3.5-1.5, Chongqing has triumphed over
Jiangsu 3-2, Guangdong drew with Tianjin at 2.5 each, while Hebei
lost to Shanghai 3-2.
