Soccer: Beijing Become Guo'an Again
Adjust font size:

Loyal fans of the Beijing football team will be happy to see their team return to its original name: the Beijing Guo'an.

The decision was disclosed Friday. According to the club, "Guo'an" will be the only words on the team's jerseys when it plays at home court on Saturday.

Negotiations with new title sponsors are underway.

The capital club and South Korean automaker Hyundai signed a sponsorship deal three years ago that saw the team's name changed to Beijing Hyundai.

As the three-year contract came to an end on Friday, both sides reached an understanding that they would not renew their cooperation.

Beijing had earlier received its first financial funding this season from an Austrian company, BWin. However, the club has ruled out the company as its title sponsor.
