Chinese boss Zhu Guanghu named a 27-man squad for a training camp in Guangdong from Jan. 12 to 27 in preparation for the upcoming 2007 AFC(Asian Football Confederation) Asian Cup qualifiers next month in Beijing on Monday.

Veteran burly striker Xie Hui, who didn't travel to Spain with the national team, has been recalled by head coach Zhu. The former German second division club Aachen hitman is likely to be paired with a speedy Li Yi on the forward line.

China is grouped with Iraq, Palestine and Singapore in the preliminary rounds, and their first match is scheduled for Feb. 22.
