Yuyuan Old Street, one of the 10 major sights in Shanghai, was built during the reign of Ming Emperor Jiajing. Shops dazzle throughout its streets and alleyways, peddling wares such as fans, scissors, brushes, Chinese ink stones and chops carved out of jade or wood, walking sticks and traditional Chinese costumes.
