Shwegyin hydropower plant commissioned into service in Myanmar

The Shwegyin hydropower plant is pictured in Bago region, southern Myanmar, on Oct. 22, 2011. The Shwegyin hydropower plant was commissioned into service on Saturday. The 75 megawatt (mw) power plant, implemented by the Myanmar Ministry of Electric Power-1 and China Gezhouba Water and Power Group Co. Ltd., is installed with four generators which will generate 262 million kilowatt-hours (kwh).
