Thirty students from Confucius Institute in Cairo University and 13 Chinese language teachers from several Egyptian Universities left for China to attend a summer camp.

The 25-day-long camp is the second of its kind for Egyptian faculty. It is sponsored by China's Confucius Institute headquarters in Beijing and China's National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.

The students will attend Chinese language and culture lectures prepared by Peking University and travel to northeastern China's coastal city Dalian, and hometown of Confucius Qufu in east China' s Shandong Province, according to Chinese Dean of Cairo University Confucius Institute Li Shengjun.

"The students have never been to China before, it's a very good opportunity for them and teachers to know about China and to improve their verbal ability," said Egyptian Dean of Cairo University Confucius Institute Rehab, at the Cairo Airport on Thursday night.

"China is really my dream place, I want to visit the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and many other places, I will enjoy visiting them if time permits," Egyptian student Sara said in Chinese.

Currently, there are two Confucius institutes for teaching Chinese language and culture in Egypt. Several hundred Egyptians have received Chinese language studies in the institutes.
