The stone carving features the peace deal negotiation between the Zulu leader and the Dutch settlers. The kneeing boy who cups his two hands is supposed to catch the Zulu leader’s human excrement such as sweat and spits, since Zulu people was deemed that falling excrement could be used by witchcraft to against them.
