The total length of highways that open to traffic will reach
80,000 kilometers in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region
by the end of 2010, 18,000 kilometers longer than that at the end
of last year.
The length of expressways that open to traffic will reach 3,000
kilometers in the region by the end of 2010, 1,600 km longer than
that at the end of last year, according to the Guangxi Zhuang
Autonomous Regional Development and Reform Commission.
Five years later, all the region's 14 cities will be connected
with expressways and there will be eight expressways linking the
region with neighboring provinces and neighboring southeast Asian
countries.
Last year, Guangxi kicked off the construction of 16 expressway
projects with a total length of 1,242 kilometers last year.
