China called on all parties concerned to continue promoting the
process of resolving the Korean nuclear issue in a peaceful way,
Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing said Monday.
Addressing the general debate of the 60th session of the UN
General Assembly, Li said the fourth round of six-party talks on
the Korean nuclear issue concluded in Beijing on Monday with the
adoption of an important common statement.
He stressed that this significant step, which reflects the
strong political will and unremitting efforts of the six
governments involved as well as the common international wishes,
should be cherished.
Li called on all parties concerned to continue the cooperation
with each other in order to resolve the Korean nuclear issue
peacefully through dialogues, and maintain the long-term peace and
stability of the Korean Peninsula.
He promised that China will continue to make positive
contribution to realize a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula and
maintain the long-term peace and stability of the region.
