Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu on Friday suggest China and the
World Bank (WB) strengthen collaboration in the field of capital,
knowledge and human resources.
Hui made the remarks at a meeting with a WB delegation
consisting of finance ministers, central bank governors and senior
officials from seven Latin American countries, such as Brazil,
Colombia, and Mexico.
Hui praised WB's efforts to push forward global economic
cooperation, common development and poverty reduction, and spoke
highly of the friendly relations between China and Latin
America.
China hopes to work together with the Latin American countries
for a long-range, stable, friendly and cooperative relationship,
Hui said.
The vice premier also briefed the guest on China's poverty
alleviation, economic and social progress.
Pamela Cox, head of the delegation and WB vice president for
Latin America and the Caribbean, said strengthening collaboration
between the WB and China enriches the WB's theory on development
and contributes greatly to the global fight against poverty.
