Taxi Drivers at Higher Risk for Cardiovascular Disease
Adjust font size:

Chinese scientists at the Guangzhou Red Cross Hospital estimate that sixty percent of the city's taxi drivers have high blood cholesterol.

The researchers say sixty percent of the 100 interviewers who work as taxi drivers have high blood cholesterol. China Radio International reported Monday.

About forty percent are overweight and thirty percent have high blood pressure or high blood sugar.

Experts say over ten hours in the restricted space every day may seriously increase fat deposition on waists of the taxi drivers.

Midnight snacks, drinking and smoking are all reasons for the high blood cholesterol.
