Russia will cooperate with North Korea in a bid to make
substantial result in the new round of the six-party talks, said
Russian chief negotiator Alexander Alexeyev Tuesday upon arrival in
Beijing.
Undoubtedly, the fifth round of the six-party talks will not be
easy, said Alexeyev recently, calling on other parties to take the
North Korean concerns into consideration.
It is reported that the Russian delegation to this round of the
six-party talks consists 13 members, including Russian ambassadors
to China and North Korea.
Four rounds of the six-party talks have so far been held in
Beijing, aiming at resolving the nuclear issue on the Korean
Peninsula, which involve China, North Korea, the United States,
South Korea, Russia and Japan.
A joint statement, the first of its kind, was issued at the
second-phase meeting of the fourth round of the six-party talks
held in Beijing in September.
