Minister in charge of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC)
Zhang Ping, ethnic Han and a native of Xiao County, Anhui Province, was born in January 1946. He started work in September 1966 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in August 1979.
From Sep. 1963 to Sep. 1966: studied in Anhui Bank School.
From Jul. 1967 to Aug. 1981: Accountant at a branch of the People’s Bank of China in Chao County, Anhui; Official of the Financial and Trade Office of the county government (during this period, he studied at the Party School of the CPC Anhui Provincial Committee from Sep. 1980 to Jul. 1981).
From Aug. 1981: Deputy Director of the Industry and Commerce Bureau in Chao County, Anhui.
From Oct. 1981: Secretary of the Research and Investigation Division under the General Office of Anhui provincial government.
From Dec. 1985: Deputy Director of the Anhui Provincial Planning Commission.
From Oct. 1991: Director of the Anhui Provincial Planning Commission.
From Aug. 1992: Secretary of CPC Wuhu Municipal Committee, Anhui; Acting Mayor of Wuhu City
From Jan. 1993: Secretary of CPC Wuhu Municipal Committee, Anhui and Mayor of Wuhu
From Apr. 1995: Assistant Governor of Anhui; Secretary-General of Anhui provincial government.
