Adjust font size:

China Red Cross Society had allocated relief goods worth 8 million yuan (US$976,000) to flood-hit areas by Friday.

The red cross societies of Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions donated 200,000 yuan (US$24,400) and 100,000 yuan (US$12,200) respectively to the flood-affected areas. Local Red Cross branches have also dispatched about 125 medical teams.

Twenty-two provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions have been affected by natural disasters since May, which include landslides, mudflows, torrential rain and hail.

Former Cambodian King Norodom Sihanouk wrote a letter on June 14 to Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing to express his sympathy for the flood-affected people in provinces of Hunan, Guizhou and Sichuan, and donated US$20,000.
