Due to the slippery court, Angola gave up the match when there was
1:16 left in the third quarter. Angola won 62-49.
In the first quarter, Australia made the first field-goal and
went up 2-0. Their inside play was overwhelming, Australia soon
took a 4-point lead. Angola then found their offense rhythm and
took the lead, when there was 4:58 left in the first quarter they
took the lead of 7 points.
Angola's defense was very aggressive, Australia began to turned
the ball over under such pressure. Australia once reduced the gap
to 3 points, but they didn't have the chance to tie the game.
Angola led the first quarter 21-16.
In the second quarter, Australia cut the deficit to 1 when there
was 6:46 left in the first half, Angola called a timeout. After the
timeout, Angola hit a field goal and led the game by 3. Then they
hit a 3-pointer and had a 6-point lead when there was 5:38 left in
the first half. Angola extended their lead to double digit when
there was 4:02 left in the second quarter.
As the slippery ground bothered the players, the referee stopped
the match. After about 3 minutes, the match continued, Angola
extended their lead to 12. Angola finally led the first half
44-33.
In the second half, Angola continued their play style, Australia
hardly had chance to took over the game. When there was 3:35 left
in the third quarter, Angola was 60-44. After that, Australia had 5
straight point, Angola called a timeout. After the timeout, one
Angola player injured in the game, the match was interrupted.
After discussion with two teams, the match stopped when there
was 1:16 left in the third quarter.
