Marksmen of Kazakhstan won the first gold medal for their
country at the 15th Asian Games on Sunday.
Veteran Sergey Belyayev led Juriy Melsitov and Vitaliy Dovgun to
the gold of men's 50m rifle prone with a total score of 1,762
points.
South Korea took the silver medal with 1,758 points, beating
China to the third place on 1,752 points.
"They didn't compete to their standards today," said Chang
Jingchun, China's coach of men's rifle.
This is the first time that non-Chinese shooters won at the
Lusail Shooting Complex after the shooting competition kicked off
on Dec. 2.
