The US military has ordered another US soldier to face court
martial for Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal, a senior US officer
said on May 14, 2004.
Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt said the US Army filed criminal charges
including adultery against Military Police Cpl. Charles A. Graner
in connection with the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal.
He said other charges against Graner also included conspiracy to
maltreat detainee, dereliction of duty, cruelty and maltreatment of
detainees.
Garner will be arraigned May 20 but no trial date has been set,
Kimmitt added.
Army specialist Jeremy Sivits, 24, was ordered on May 9 to face
a court martial scheduled to take place in public in Baghdad on
May19.
On Thursday, the military set a May 20 arraignment date for
Staff Sgt. Ivan Frederick and Sgt. Javal S. Davis.
