Speedskater Joey Cheek, who won 500m gold and 1,000m silver, will carry the American flag in Sunday's closing ceremonies, the US Olympic Committee announced Friday.

 

Cheek has donated the US$40,000 he receives from the US Olympic Committee for his Turin medals to the charity organization Right to Play, which brings sport to disadvantaged youth worldwide.
