The Chinese Basketball Association may sign Jonas Kazlauskas as the
new head coach of the Chinese national team.
The 51-year-old Lithuanian was appointed as the assistant coach
of the Chinese men's team at the Athens Olympics last year.
He left the job in October after leading China into the top
eight in Athens, and returned to Europe directing a Greek team in
the champions club.
Jonas became the head coach of the Lithuanian national team in
1997.
He led the team to win the Olympic bronze medal in Sydney in
2000, and was awarded the best coach award in Europe in the same
year.
