India, Chinese Taipei, Japan and hosts South Korea snatched one
gold each in the four-gold golf competition at the Busan Asian
Games on Sunday.
Kapur Shiv from India clinched the men's individual gold with a
total of 284 in the four-day four-round game, followed by Anura
Rohana from Sir Lanka with 287 and Kim Hyun Woo from South Korea at
292, at the par-72 Asiad Country Club.
The Chinese Taipei claimed the men's team title with a total of874.
South Korea finished the second with 884 and Japan the third with
885.
Miyazato Ai from Japan took the women's individual champion with a
total of 286 while South Korean Kim Joo-mi and Park Won-mi were
relegated to the second and third places with 291 and 293
apiece.
South Korea grabbed the women's team gold with a total of 577.
Japan took the silver with 579 and the Philippines got the bronze
at 603.
Only amateur players were allowed to compete in the golf
competition in Busan. Sixty-three male and 17 female players from
17 countries and regions were registered for the game.
China sent four male players to participate in the Busan golf
competition. They finished the ninth with 915 in the team
competition, two more than Malaysia who got the eighth place.
Chinese Yuan Hao played well on Sunday in the heavy rain to get 73,
which raised him from the 23rd after the third round to the 15th of
the individual in the end with a total of 303. Other Chinese
players were all out of the top 24.
