China Development Gateway, also known as CnDG, started its trial operation in 2001. It was a joint project between the Chinese government and the Development Gateway Foundation(DGF) under the World Bank. Later on in the same year, the foundation became independent from the World Bank as a non-profit organization. CnDG now has close relationships with the foundation and they have already started some new joint projects.

Michael Pereira, the director of the Global Online Communities of the foundation, is invited to "China Talk", to share the information of dgCommunities and its new project named "China Poverty-relief Forum" with the audience. The forum is expected to be launched at the beginning of July, as a platform for people to publish ideas, share knowledge and exchange views with each other, with an aim of contributing to the poverty-relief and development in China.
