Japanese runner Masakazu Fujiwara won the men's half marathon race at the 21st World University Games on Saturday.
Fujiwara, led from 5 kilometers, covered the distance in one hour four minutes and 12 seconds.
Wodage Zvadya of Israel was second at 1:04:30 and another Japanese Ryohji Matsushita finished third at 1:04:53 in the race, which begans and ended in the Tian'anmen Square.
While in women's race, Pong Sil Ham of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea defeated Japanese rival Miki Oyama in final sprint to win the honour at 1:15:24.
Oyama had the silver at 1:15:31 and Chang Ok Kim of DPR Korea took the bronze at 1:15:36.
A total of 26 men's runners and 13 women's runners took part in the race.
