Italy's Nicola Vizzoni tossed 78. 41 meters to land the men's hammer gold medal with a commanding style here today at the current Universiade.
The 28-year-old Italian heaved a mighty 77.94 meters in his opening round and met no challenge throughout.
Vizzoni registered his winning toss in the fifth round. Vladyslav Piskunov of Ukraine took the silver at 77.99 and Hungry's Adrian Annus placed third at 77.73.
Piskunov had a series poor results before he managed his longest try in the final action.
