From the outside looks like a bus of normal size and appearance, but inside it has the capacity to carry food for 2,000 people along with freezing and heating devices.
As many as 40 buses of this type will be running in Olympic venues for next year's Summer Games in Beijing, with each vehicle costing 1.5 million yuan (US$200,000), said Chen Liqun, a manager of Olympic food service provider.
Food is stored in 15 freezers on board each bus and can be transferred through a 8.5-meter-long microwave tunnel to heat the dishes up from below 7 degrees Celsius (45 Fahrenheit) to above 70 degrees Celsius (150 Fahrenheit) in two minutes.
Each bus is equipped with seven operators, who after receiving English training will provide bilingual service.
