Accor SA, Europe's largest hotel company, may participate in hotel projects costing about US$300 million in India and China in the next five years, the head of its Asian business said.
Accor aims to have 120 hotels in China and 20 hotels in India by 2010, either operating or under development, Accor Asia Pacific Managing Director Michael Issenberg said yesterday in Singapore.
Most of the hotels, offering rooms for as little as US$20, will draw business travelers and visitors on a budget.
