All Indian airports have been on high alert Wednesday after warnings by intelligence agencies that terrorists may hijack a plane, according to Indo-Asian News Service.
The alert has been sounded on the basis of certain reports sent by intelligence agencies to the home ministry. Security at all airports across the country has been tightened and the Civil Aviation Ministry is closely working with security agencies.
Airlines have been advised to inform passengers to reach airports well ahead of time so that no delay due to security checks, said the service.
