Adjust font size:

Cathay Pacific, the leading airways of Hong Kong said Tuesday that its traffic figures in November showed continued growth in both passenger and cargo traffic.

The airline said it carried over 1.3 million passengers and 109, 413 tons of cargo last month, up 7.1 percent and 9.3 percent respectively over the same period last year.

Cathay Pacific's Director & General Manager for Cargo Ron Mathison said: "Demands out of Hong Kong and the mainland continue to rise and our loads on key long-haul routes to Europe and the United States remained very high."

He noted that the introduction of new freighter service to Beijing is helping the company tap into the growing market in northern China and the five extra freighter flights a week to Shanghai will further boost its business in the Chinese mainland.
