Cairo International Airport was honored on Wednesday as the "Airport of the Year" in Africa, an Egyptian official said.
The award ceremony was held on the sidelines of the closing session of the 38th round of the African Civil Aviation Commission, said General Fathi Fathallah, chairman of Cairo Airport Company.
The airport won the award for its efforts to upgrade various sectors in the past three years, he said.
