Madagascar Open to Chinese Tourists Soon
Adjust font size:

Chinese citizens will soon be able to visit Madagascar, thanks to a memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries on Thursday.

A beautiful island country off the east coast of Africa, Madagascar is one of the world's most popular travel destinations. Business travelers are currently the only Chinese citizens allowed to travel to Madagascar, but the new memorandum will soon open it up to ordinary tourists.

Travel agencies in Beijing have already started planning new tours that take in the island, including a "Madagascar and South Africa Tour" and a "Madagascar and Mauritius Tour". At around 20,000 yuan, the tours are expected to cost more than most international trips because higher transport and accommodation costs are involved.
