Macao CE Meets US Treasury Official

Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of China's Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR), met with Daniel Glazer, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the US Department of the Treasury in Macao on Saturday.

Both sides exchanged views on the latest development of the incident of the Banco Delta Asia (BDA), a Macao-based bank.

The MSAR government reiterated its concern and regret over the decision made by the US Department of the Treasury in regards to the BDA.

Both sides also agreed that mutual dialogue and cooperation should be strengthened in the process of dealing with the bank accounts of North Korea so as to come up with a satisfactory solution.

The delegation headed by Glazer also visited the Monetary Authority of Macao, and provided information in regards to North Korean accounts.

The US delegation started its Macao visit early Saturday.
