Senior legislator Xu Jialu met visiting Macedonian Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki in Beijing on Thursday.

Xu said since the normalization of China-Macedonia ties, the two countries achieved remarkable progress in strengthening ties based on the principle of mutual respect, mutual benefits and non-interference in each other's internal affairs.

China is ready to make joint efforts with Macedonia to further deepen political trust, expand mutually beneficial cooperation in diversified fields and push forward bilateral ties up to a new level, Xu said.

In response, Milososki said his government attaches great importance to developing relations with China. Macedonia appreciates China's important role in international affairs and would like to enhance cooperation with China and learn from the country's successful experience.

The Macedonian government will stick to the one-China policy and China's reunification cause, he added.

Invited by Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, Milososki started his four-day working visit to China on Tuesday.
