Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met with Akihiro Ota, head of Japan's junior ruling coalition party the New Komeito in Beijing on Sunday, vowing to deepen exchanges and cooperation for better Sino-Japanese ties.
Exchanges between political parties play an important role in Sino-Japanese ties, Wang said, hailing contribution made by the New Komeito for pushing forward the Sino-Japanese ties.
The CPC would like to make joint efforts with the New Komeito to deepen friendly cooperation in various fields, to foster mutual understanding and friendship between the two people, as well as to make further contribution to a sound, stable development of the bilateral ties in a new era, Wang said.
Ota said that the New Komeito would further deepen exchanges with the CPC to seek ways for the development of bilateral ties and the strategic relationship between the two nations.
