A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said in Beijing Monday that relevant parties should avoid more tension in the Korean Peninsular and push forward the solution to the nuclear issue there.
Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks while meeting with Park Geun-Hye, former president of the Grand National Party (GNP) of South Korea.
They discussed northeast Asia security and agreed that the six-party talks were the most effective way of resolving the Korean Peninsular nuclear issue.
The also exchanged views on strengthening the mutually beneficial cooperation between China and South Korea and deepening the friendly contacts between the CPC and the GNP.
