China and the European Union (EU) held their second round of strategic dialogue in Beijing on Tuesday, with both sides exchanging profound views on the China-EU relations, East Asia affairs, regional economy, energy and other issues of common concern.
Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui on Tuesday met with Hans Winkler, state secretary of the Austrian Foreign Ministry, whose country holds the current presidency of the EU troika -- Britain, France and Germany.
In their in-depth discussions, the two sides both agreed that the consolidation of the bilateral dialogue and cooperation will not only help promote China-EU all-round strategic partnership, but also serves the peace, stability, and common prosperity of the world.
The two sides also spoke positively of the role played by the China-EU strategic dialogue to help increase mutual understanding and boost cooperation with mutual benefit, vowing to push forward the China-EU ties through political dialogue and consultation at various levels.
China and the EU held the first round of strategic dialogue last December in London.
