Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met with a delegation of the Romanian National Liberal Party (NLP) led by Teodor Melescanu, NLP vice chairman and vice chairman of the Romanian senate on Thursday.
Wang said Sino-Romania relations had maintained a solid momentum of development in recent years. The China visit of the NLP delegation and the forging of the ties between the NLP and the CPC mark an important step forward in the exchanges and communications between the two parties.
Wang said the CPC had an in-depth exchange of views with the NLP on issues of common concern and strengthened mutual understanding, which will further consolidate the basis of the China-Romania friendly relations.
Melescanu said Romania and China enjoy a long history of traditional friendship. What he witnessed and heard during the China visit impressed him deeply. The NLP values its relations with the CPC, he said, expressing his conviction that the friendly relations between the two parties and the two countries will be further developed by enhancing regular exchanges.
