Chinese Company to Construct Residence Buildings in Angola

A Chinese company is to build 44 15-floor buildings in Cabinda City, capital of the Cabinda Province in Angola.

 

The "China International Fund" company will build the buildings with 5,000 apartments in Yabi village, 18 kilometers south of the provincial capital.

 

At a ceremony held yesterday for the launching of the first stone of the project in the city, the Angolan minister of urbanization and environment, Diakupuna Sita Jose, said that the Angolan government will build 200,000 residences countrywide until the year 2008.

 

He said the residences will be built in the ambit of the cooperation with China, and bank loans will be provided for acquisition.

 

The minister said the Angolan government, through the National Reconstruction Department, will coordinate the operational aspects.

 

The representative of the Chinese firm, Ju Lizao, said the planning and projecting of the city will be carried out according to the urban concepts of developed countries of Asia and Europe, combined with the type of life and architectonic characteristics of the country.

 

Ju said the urbanization project of Cabinda City will employ 4,000 Angolans and 1,000 Chinese with minimum costs but with better quality. The project will be finished in 30 months.
