A selection of 12 recently released French films will be shown to Chinese audience at the Third French Film Panorama which is to open in Beijing on Thursday, according to a source with the French Embassy in China.
The showcase will open with L'Empire Des Loups, directed by Chris Nahon and starring serial tough-guy Jean Reno, one of France's top stars.
Reno will head a group of top film producers and actors at the opening ceremony while Philippe Guelluy, French ambassador to China, is also expected to attend, the source said.
Other films set to be shown include La Maison De Nin, directed by Richard Dembo, Cedric Khan's L'Avion, and L'Enfant, directed by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne.
The film exhibition will also take place in Chengdu and Shanghai cities and the artists will meet the Chinese audience after showings in the three cities, the source said.
The panorama, organized by Unifrance, an organization which promotes French cinema worldwide, along with the French Embassy and the French Cultural Center, will close in Shanghai on February 14.
