The 2006 International Fireworks and Music Festival will kick off on the first day of 2006 in the capital city of Chengdu in southwest China's Sichuan Province, according to sources of the local government.
The festival is scheduled for January 1 to February 12 in a park of Wenjiang District. It will cover several Chinese traditional festivals like the Chinese Lunar New Year and the Lantern Festival.
The festival will invite a number of world-famous fireworks masters from eight countries including the US, Russia, Germany, Italy, Spain and South Korea.
During the festival, eight fireworks shows, together with classic symphony concerts, will be staged to feast the Chinese audiences.
Other events will include daytime fireworks show and self-service fireworks activities so that the attendants can experience the gala in person, said one of the organizers.
