Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Chief Executive Donald Tsang offered his condolence to the passing of T.S. Lo Tuesday.
A statement issued by the HKSAR government on Tuesday morning said Tsang was saddened to learn of the passing of Mr T.S. Lo Monday night.
"On behalf of the HKSAR government, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to Mr Lo's family," Tsang said.
As former president of the Law Society of Hong Kong, Lo had conducted a distinguished career in law, business, publishing and public services, the statement said.
Lo had contributed to Hong Kong's smooth reunification with the motherland in his various capacities as a member of the Preparatory Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, a vice chairman of the Basic Law Consultative Committee, and a Hong Kong Affairs adviser.
Lo was a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and had served as a member of both the Executive and Legislative Councils before the reunification. He was awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medal (GBM) in 1997.
