China's Top Advisory Body to Meet in July
Adjust font size:  ZoomIn ZoomOut

China's top advisory body decided Tuesday to meet in July to discuss suggestions on building a new socialist countryside and enhancing the nation's innovative capability.

At a meeting of the 10th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, members agreed to hold the 14th session of the National Committee to discuss the two topics and put forward suggestions to the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the central government from July 4 to 7.

Tuesday's meeting was presided over by Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

Special Committees under the CPPCC have started joint research with non-Communist parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce.

The CPPCC is a key mechanism for multi-party cooperation and political consultation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and a major manifestation of socialist democracy.
