Chinese Hollywood producer, Luo Yan, director of Pearl Buck's film adaption Pavilion of Women, has recently launched shooting of a Hollywood-invested low cost Chinese comedy Ha Ha Ha in Beijing.
Tianjin Daily reports Luo Yan as saying that low-cost films are more rewarding, "it would be silly if I chose to shoot a large-investment film."
"Crazy Stone has paved the way for me. The Chinese film industry has entered an age of wisdom in its comedy," said Luo Yan, "Two years ago it is large Kung-fu films that reigned over the market. But now Chinese audiences have been able to appreciate this kind of low-cost comedy."
Chinese stars, Huang Yiwen and David Wu will star in the film. Luo Yan said she may also invite American actors to join the cast.
