Hong Kong actor-director Lam Chi-chung is in talks with an LA-based producer to helm so US/HK co-productions. Lam said, "It's only very at a very initial stage. I met her, the LA based producer, at the Udine Film Festival. Nothing's concrete yet. But the style will be like I'll Call You."
"I'm working on another script," Lam continued, "The idea has been sitting there for two years and I mentioned that story to the producer. She will be in Hong Kong in September and we will meet again for further discussion on the project."
The co-productions are designed, according to the LA producer, to symbolize the concept of East meets West.
Speaking of other upcoming film projects, Lam said, "My next film will be a comedy, simple and a bit superficial. It's more for a local audience. It's not like I'll Call You, which to a certain extent isn't very local. It has more European flavor. I like European films."
